On behalf of Zedbetty, I thank you for your kind wishes. He turned 81 today and is just as cranky and stubborn as ever. He was able to blow out all of his birthday candles but he refused to open any of his presents because he wanted to go back to the nursing home loaded with wrapped gifts in order to make the others jealous. At times he seemed to recognize me but at other times he thought I was his Uncle Joe. In the end, a good time was had by all.

(Zedbetty is not to be confused with his alter ego Kieran McConville who celebrated his 26th birthday back in August although both of them appreciate a good merlot.)
