Yep, still no reason to watch the Gammys.

Thanks for confirmation.

Really. If it's not the most dreadful list I've ever seen, it's way up there.

Ugh.

Quick question: was Magic released after the nomination cutoff? Just wondering.

As I understand it, the vinyl was released a week earlier than the CD so that it qualified for the Grammy award nominations this year.

And nothing?

That's disappointing. :(

Meanwhile I think three people have picked up the Foos new release and it's nominated. Just another reason why the Grammys don't make any sense.

In a surprise, Bruce Springsteen -- whose critically praised "Magic" was expected to do well -- didn't get an album of the year nomination.

He got four nominations in the lesser rock categories.

He was robbed in 2002, he was robbed in 1984, and now he can't even get a nomination.

I didn't even think of that. He's too "old" I guess, and Hey Delilah is superior songwriting.

If he had won the award previously, I would've understood it a bit more, but he has never won Album Of The Year. What a joke. I mean, Vince Gill? Come on.

Yes, Feist is a new artist. This is her second solo album. She's been in a band since the beginning of the decade, but people who saw the iTunes commercial didn't know who she was so she must be new!

Herbie Hancock and Vince Gill. Wow.

they're so brave

They're not ready to make nice for completely misinterpreting the demographic of their entire fan base, give them an award....or every award we have to offer!

you'd think that Magic would have been nominated for album of the year, seeing as the academy's a bunch of tree hugging hippies and all. ponderous.

Maybe next year.
