In South Africa, 'flossy' or rather 'flossie' refers to female genitaelia. Thus, when my father used to announce we'd be taking the Flossie (South African nickname for the military aircraft seen here) into Namibia, my younger sister and I used to giggle nonstop. 'We're flying in a flossie!'

This thread has been hugely educational. Especially good stuff to know, in case I travel through back alleys, or visit South Africa...and especially since my one and only tattoo on my arm says Flossie.
