Ok I hope that this topic hasn't been addressed recently. I was just kindly reminded by Mulholland Drive how much I like the soundtrack to The Captive. Our boy Edge is in top form!

What are your favorite soundtracks?

Some of mine are (and in particular order):

Pulp Fiction
Magnolia
In the Name of the Father
Until the End of the World (of course!)
Virgin Suicides

I was JUST going to start this exact topic!

I've been listening to the soundtrack to "Amelie" for the last day and a half non-stop. It is just deliciously wonderful!

I used to really collect soundtracks...until a little Irish band moved to the forefront of my affections and music-buying. In any case, some of my fav scores are:

- Glory
- Last of the Mohicans
- Gladiator
- Dangerous Beauty
- Anna and the King

I only go for the actual scores of the music. Not into those "collection of songs that have nothing to do with the movie" CDs.

I have quite a collection of soundtracks, and my favourites are:

Trainspotting (Both discs)
Pulp Fiction
The Saint (Crap movie, great soundtrack!)

Last of the Mohicans
1492
The Russia House
Edward Scissorhands (hee hee)

I woudl like to by the score to Gladiator!

And I was just about to ask about a soundtrack *forrest gump* that I'm going to buy!

So I'll ask, does anyone have that soundtrack- is it 2 discs or one???

I remember it being 2 discs but the place I'm going to order from isn't making it clear...

Well I loooove soundtracks more than anything *except U2 music*.

bladerunner *brilliant*
indecent proposal*the suite music is best*
gladiator
west side story
the first x files cd*strange but great songs*
A.I.*best score, dammit!*
sleepless in seattle
bram stoker's dracula*93 soundtrack*
dancer in the dark

Harry Potter.........it's really excellent.
Heck, anything John Williams composes is excellent........

Yah, those are pretty sweet.. Mohicans is probably my favorite score out there, I also like Hook A lot! I'm not sure why.. I love the movie, and the score to it just seems to take me away sometimes..

I also turn away from those collections that have music 'inspired' by the motion picture... Geezus.. It took about two or three absolutely shitty purchases before I realized exactly what that meant...

Funny that noone has mentioned the Million Dollar hotel Soundtrack.
I'm not much in for soundtracks myself, only have two of them, MDH and The Lion king.

:wow: I just saw your reply in The Captive thread. Thanks (both times) for the Amelie suggestion. I really enjoyed that movie so I'm sure to like the Soundtrack too!

Ah . . . the difference between a score and soundtrack. I usually go for just the soundtracks but I'll need to investigate the score road.

Moulin Rouge
In The Name Of The Father
MDH

And the score for Jaws!!!

That?s some of them, I?m sure I can think of many more...

Thanx angel- I'm ordering from Columbiahouse and they have two versions of the forrest gump soundtrack, one is the original soundtrack and the other is the 2001 soundtrack... now that I know its two discs I am unsure of which is which- is the 2001 cd improved or something? They both cost the same price... ack I'll just stick with the original.

hmmmm, let's see....

Million Dollar Hotel
Singles
Austin Powers (1st one)
Romeo and Juliet (Baz Lurhman)
The Crow (sndtrk and score)
Interview with the Vampire (score)
Cable Guy

And the music from the movie "Fandango". I don't even think there is a soundtrack to that movie anymore. The movie was from mid 80's (starred Kevin Costner, Judd Nelson). It was a great movie with an awesome soundtrack.
