Interpol, Bright Eyes on Tsunami Relief LP

Aaron Mandel reports:
When various international governments complained that the U.S. wasn't fulfilling its civic duty toward the victims of last month's devastating tsunami, it apparently fell to entry-level indie rock apparel chain Urban Outfitters to show Indonesia some love.

On February 28th, Urban Outfitters and Filter Magazine will release a two-disc compilation to be sold only at UO stores and online-- and we'd love to tell you what it's called, but in what is either a minor oversight or an avant-garde gesture beyond our comprehension, the compilation does not yet have a title. They will, however, be donating all profits to the UNICEF Tsunami Relief Fund, which means that if you don't personally dig the prospect of laying down a sawbuck to hear someone remix Franz Ferdinand's "The Dark Of The Matinee", you're a selfish selfish bastard.

The songs admittedly run the spectrum in both rarity and quality, from familiar album tracks by Bright Eyes and The Faint to Hot Hot Heat's excellent UK b-side "Apt. 101", from sneak preview songs off of upcoming albums by Caribou and Mercury Rev to a live recording of the Futureheads' depressingly well-titled "Piece Of Crap". If anything (other than the children) gets us to part with our hard-earned cash, though, it'll be the unreleased Death Cab for Cutie song leading off the first disc: "Love Song", which we hope (but haven't been able to confirm) is the same Cure cover that Gibbard and co. have been known to play live on occasion. Then again, it could be a Tesla cover-- and that'd be great too. Full tracklist:
