how is SHO'M higher than AIWIY is beyond my mind...

and Elvis should've won this :grumpy:

Not a bad list. I'm not sure I would've ranked the Beach Boys first, or even in the top five really with as many great songs as they have there. It would've been nice to see Dolly Parton's version of I Will Always Love You instead of Whitney Houston's. I like Do Right Woman better than You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman, but that's still a great song. It's nice to see Lou Reed, Mazzy Star, and Talking Heads farther down the list, too.

Not bad, much better than most of these ranking lists.

But Beyonce even making it? Hell no! I like her music if I'm out dancing with my friends, but belonging anywhere on a "greatest" list, not so much.

I agree with this. Beyonce notwithstanding, it's also absurd to include "Maps," by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and a (great, yes) song by Talking Heads. "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)" is a wonderful song, for sure, but it's hardly a love song. It's about a lamp.

I know our second song at our wedding was Al Green's "Let's Stay Together".

Weird list. Where's Louis Armstrong's 'What A Wonderful World'? My friend picked that as his first dance. Oh the things I would change if I were getting married & choosing music again.

And who is EW? Entertainment Weekly? :der:

This list is weird... "La la Means I Love You" is one of the greatest love songs ever? :crack:

Love songs are such a personal thing. Is this list really necessary?

Maybe they are referring to the performance of the song vs. the writer of it. I never cared for Dolly's version that much, especially compared to Whitney's
