Nope. Just being around smoke gives me a horrible headache.

I must admit, though, that smoking does look cool. (Not that that's a good reason to do it.)

No. I've lived with smokers though, and lit their cigarettes for them, but never really got into it. I'd rather drink. :reject:

oo, bumped old thread... *adds my .02*

I've watched too many grandparents die of lung cancer to ever smoke.
Plus, I have asthma and chronic sinus problems because my parents smoked.. as does my brother, but his asthma is far worse than mine and he somehow skipped out on the sinus thing.
My dad's got emphysema.
Too many kids made fun of me at school because my clothes smelled like cigs.

yes, anyway.

this is a really old bumped thread, huh? i didn't notive the date :reject: in the first post, i was thinking "hey, who are all these people who have been here forever but i haven't seen ever cos i havn't been here for ever"

i don't smoke. i don't plan on it eihter. my best friend smokes, although she's quit and started back up on and off over the last 2 years...and i think my sister started smoking

however, even though i don't smoke, i usually carry a lighter with me just in case i see a pretty girl who is looking to fire up a cig.

*joins in adding to an old, bumped thread*

i, too, never have and never will...

and i can't even begin to understand your position with the lighter thing...for me, smoking is a MAJOR turnoff...probably one of the biggest, imho...

I quit for 14 months, then started again in April. I tried to quit during finals last semester, and that was just stupid. Since I'm not a heavy smoker (usually no more than 1/2 pack a day, usually less than that unless I'm, um, well really boozing it up) I decided that my new year's resolution would be to not buy anymore, and just occassionally bum one from my friends who smoke heavily. Oops, broke that a few weeks ago. Today I even flagged down a guy from two of my classes for a cig before I went to work...

I need to stop.

you better wear a gas mask in Vegas then...at least in the bars and casinos

yeah i know. even though i am allergic to it and can't stand the smell i still go out to bars. my leather jacket right now still smells of stale smoke from the other weekend.

as soon as i return home from bars, it is shower time for me.

i dont smoke, but lets not go on about how its bad for you and it could kill you and all that jazz...im sure all smokers know that. some people who smoke, on this board are probably feeling like shit because of all the anti smoking comments in here. i've been a part of a family who did nothing but smoke so many packs of cigs a day, and this lady, she knew it was bad for her, she tried everything. patches, hypnosis, the works. its harder than hell for some to quit. im just saying, careful what you say.

God no. My brother does. I wish he would stop. There is a bar near me where you can't smoke inside. It rocks. Once I stop drinking I guess I will be all good.

Sorry to be ?Mr. Do you know how bad smoking is for you guy? (I hate being that guy), but I watched my grandfather die of lung cancer, I certainly would never wish that on anyone. It is awful. So food for thought for those of you who puff the cancer sticks:

Fact. From one drag of a cigarette you inhale 4,000 chemicals.

In addition to obviously polluting the tissues of your lungs, cigarette smoke also destroys the cilia in your respiratory tract (nasal passage through the lungs alveoli). The lack of cilia inhibits the general cleaning and purifying process of all the air we breathe. I have read that it is estimated that each puff of a cigarette has the potential to take 5 mins off your life. I have also read that after 10-15 years of non-smoking though you can cut the risk factors of cancer and heart disease substantially.

sorry for the rant. I just feel strongly that people should not do this to themselves or others.
