Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the sixth qualifying round of the Interference Desert Island Game II! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

The fifth round saw Lancemc defeat one of the last tournament's semi-finalists, inmyplace13, by the surprisingly large margin of 21-14.

This round features tracklistings made by Lemonchick and XHendrix24. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address. :)

Reminder for contestants: if there was an error on your tracklisting on the master list thread, let me know before your qualifying round so I can post the correct tracklist!

Competition master list.

Competition rules.

We will soon have a diagram of the competition's format, made by either myself or Screwtape.

Have fun!

Damn, we're back to the land of tracklistings that don't really appeal to me.

XHendrix's cause was helped by including some Mew, My Bloody Valentine, and one of my favourite Talking Heads songs. And Lemonchick ultimately lost by vote for including Regina bloody Spektor.

Like Axver, most of the artists in these tracklistings don't appeal to me which isn't a bad thing.

So it comes down to Lemonchick for featuring 1979 (the ultimate nostalgia song) and ending with Sugur Ros vs. XHendrix's ending of Day In A Life and the introduction of another Broken Social Scene song for my enjoyment.

I really like both endings but Day In A Life is just a perfect way to go out. So I guess I'm going with XHendrix24.

Anyways, good luck to both of you through the rest of the competition.

I was really going to vote for Lemonchick's list, but then Hendrix's just really blew me away with some of his choices. Hated to take yet another vote away from Lemonchick, but XHendrix rocked the playlist.

i dont know many, many of these songs. but xhendrix has more of my all time favourites on his list. so...

Same here.

I was going to go for Lemonchick but if there is one song I do not like it would have to be "The Blower's Daughter". It drives me bonkers.

Apart from that I liked an equal amount of tracks on both lists.

the New Radicals' were vastly, vastly underrated. I wish they would've stayed together.

Damn, I know I didn't have much confidence but I didn't expect to do so badly. :slant:

Oh well, I guess there's always next time.

You know a lot of us went to the trouble of uploading these songs on to the cursed save file, anyone who has used that site knows how much pain and trouble it is. So maybe people could you know like try to use the links, I'm sure everyone in the game would be thankful

Well anyway...I voted for lemonchick her playlist rules, come on Mis-Shapes, First of the Gang to Die, Music When the Lights Go Out, Find the River, We Both Go Down Together, Apres Moi, Life in a Glasshouse, Asleep, Untitled #8 and especially Half Jack(if you have not heard this song download it, it is amazing on 213 levels ) are all amazing songs.

Not that there's anything wrong with xHendrixx's playlist Common People, Lightning Blue Eyes, Once In a Lifetime, Heroes etc. are all brilliant songs but still Lemonchick gets my vote

OK, I didn't think this round was going to be so clear-cut, I figured it'd be close. Personally, I very nearly voted for Lemonchick, but I think I'd have to kill myself if I were stuck on an island having to listen to Regina bloody Spektor. The woman can't fucking sing!

Wow. I thought this would be far closer than it's turning out to be.

Even though I of course enjoy my own list a fair amount, Lemonchick's was probably one of my personal favorites in the competition. Smashing Pumpkins (who I still don't know how I left out of my list), Pulp, The Cure, The Shins, Leonard Cohen...

And to comment on another post, the New Radicals were EXTREMELY underrated. Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too is one of my favorite albums of the 90's.

I have the classic "You Get What You Give" on my playlist, that and "Someday We'll Know" are purely sublime. Plus, you get massive, massive brownie points for putting on "Heroes".

Yeah man, The Shins and Pumpkins are where it's at

It's amazing how much I'd want to change my list around by now after listening to the other entries and downloading more stuff.

I LOVE yours... Might be my favorite so far!

Voted for Hendrix.....Bowie and The Divine Comedy swayed me, plus a greater variety of music was present...

btw Hendrix how did you hear of the Divine Comedy? Not many people outside Northern Ireland/Britain know who the hell he is.

XHendrix made some amazing choices.

Pulp, BSS, one of my favourite Bowie songs, The Arcade Fire which I COMPLETELY overlooked in my playlist, and my favourite Sufjan Sevens song.

If you hadn't been against me, I would've given you my vote.

And thanks everyone for the positive feedback, I'm glad people enjoyed it. :)

(I would also like to emphasize what Irishteen said about Half Jack, or ANY Dresden Dolls song for that matter...I think everyone should give them a listen, they're simply amazing. )

I'm so not using a school computer. :shifty:
