Welcome to the seventh qualifying round of the Interference Desert Island Game II! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

In the last round, LemonMacPhisto prevailed over Fly So High! in a 18-11 victory.
This round features tracklistings by MacPhistoPT and U2VertigoFly. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address.

Reminder for contestants: if there was an error on your tracklisting on the master list thread, let me know before your qualifying round so I can post the correct tracklist!

In my playlist I tried to reach to the furthest extents of interference. I wanted to make a playlist that would be generally consisted of well know artists and songs, but sometimes I chose a song that's not necessarily the artists best or most famous but still well known, this way most people would recognize it but they may not be tired of it be fore they heard it. I kind of got into the theme of Desert Island taking it as not only you're on and island and that's the music you had with you, but I tried to convey what you would want to hear based on your feelings if say, your plane crashed on an island. It starts off pretty hard with AC/DC, then it moves on into more 80's and classic rock that you can work to. Then it goes into some music for desert island ambiance like The Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffett. Then it picks up a little bit with the alternative and a little punk stuff, form there it slows down into more chilled songs Piano Man, Tiny Dancer, and gradually builds to the violins of Eleanor Rigby and finally leaves us off with the band that brought us all to interference, with at beautiful live rendition of Bad. So I hope you all enjoy my playlist.

Both were great setlists. I voted for VertigoFly, he had some of my favorite stuff in there. Eleanor Rigby > Bad to end it was a great idea.

Both has amazingly solid tracklists, but I love more of PT's stuff, which cancels out Iron Maiden.

And I would have to impale myself with a tree branch if I had to listen to Arcitic Monkeys.

Not a single female artist on either of these lists, except in somewhat backup roles in Sonic Youth and the Arcade Fire? Come on boys--you'd never want to hear a woman's voice for the rest of your existence?

Macphisto narrowly gets my vote. U2VertigoFly had a few too many things from greatest hits compilations for my taste. And I can't in good conscience vote for a compilation that has Piano Man on it. Sorry.

U2VertigoFly by a hair, mostly because of Rebellion (Lies) ---> What's The Frequency, Kenneth

It was difficult because both contestants had a lot of songs I adore on their list, but eventually I went with MacPhisto PT's tracklisting - mainly due to my loathing for Bon Jovi.

Definently going with U2VF on this one, mainly because our list shares quite a few songs and artists, I loved it
