Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the first semi final of the Interference Desert Island Album Game! The premise of this game is that the Interference forum has been stranded on a desert island and we can take only TWO CDs of up to 80 minutes of music each. The object is to see which member of the forum can fit the most musical goodness onto these two CDs.

In the third quarter final, Bono's shades just edged out Souly by 17 votes to 15, securing a place in the second semi final against LemonMacPhisto, who defeated BonoIsMyMuse by 22 votes to 15 in the fourth quarter final.

In the first semi final, we shall see the victor of the close three-way showdown, inmyplace13, confront VertigoGal. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address. This poll will be open for TWO DAYS.

UP NEXT: Semi Final 2 - Bono's shades versus LemonMacPhisto

Competition master list.

The competition rules.

I'm not keen on either, but VertigoGal won my vote for (I think the same reason as why I voted for her in the quarter final) the inclusion of A Sort Of Homecoming and Ride's Vapour Trail.

VertigoGal, primarily for her exclusion of Radiohead, though also for her inclusion of the Pixies, Velvet Underground, Wilco, and several U2 songs I love. And because she includes female artists!

This is very very hard! :crack:

imp has Dogs , Tomorrow Never Knows, Idioteque, Nightswimming, Let Down...

VG has Streets Of Philly, Soul 2 Squeeze, RTSS, Lemon, Great Gig...

:hmm: x infinity

Both are great, but I have to go with VG, I just like hers better.

I'd be happy with both of them though.

They are both great, but I voted for VG. I wish she had some Radiohead, but I'm more than willing to trade that in exchange for having some U2 songs, including a couple of my favorites - Running to Stand Still and A Sort of Homecoming.

Tough decision, "Land Locked Blues" by Bright Eyes is quite possibly one of my favorite songs EVER, and "Instant Karma!" is my favorite John Lennon

But, VG's won because of some of my favorite U2 being on the list, and I agree with BonoIsMyMuse, she has female artists!

Plus, "Streets of Philadelphia"........

I'm getting owned.

And to those who said there aren't any female voices on my discs, you obviously didn't bother to listen to them. The second disc most definitely has female voices on it.

stars - amy millan
broken social scene - leslie feist and emily haines
the arcade fire - régine chassagne

in addition to being uber-talented, they are all extremely lovely ladies:

Sorry, I listened to it way back at the beginning of the competition and didn't like anything I didn't already have enough to keep. VG still has more I like. It's a well-assembled mix, just not what I'd listen to on a regular basis.

And I'm scared if I make it out of my next round to go against either of these.

:yikes:

Final 4, shazam

Looking at the bracket reminds me of College Basketball.

(the more I think about it, I wish someone had Europe's 'The Final Countdown' or the 'Numa Numa Song' on one of their discs, pure cheesefest fun)

my tracklisting would've been a big cheese wheel of music :D

Wow, I thought this was going to be much closer. In fact, I was expecting inmyplace to win.

Never underestimate the handicap of not having a single U2 song.

Oh well.

I was really hoping that as this is B&C, not EYKIW, people would go on the overall quality of the mix, not whether it had U2.

but everyone here is a U2 fan, and would not want to go an entire lifetime without atleast 1 U2 song.

Like if no one had Dream Theater on a Portnoy forum

(i hope i'm right with portnoy's band name)
