it's the hockey equivalent of a rookie making his debut for the opposing team cheap shotting your best player with a slash that breaks his hand and knocking him out for a month towards the end of the season

since hockey probably means a little more to you than baseball
 
i have one buddy who loves hockey who's italian but i call him canadian all the time

He's maybe THE single most valuable player in the entire Major Leagues. He's hitting .340, second in the league in RBIs and runs scored, leader in doubles. He's the emotional leader of the team, he hustles more than any player since Pete Rose. He just played half a game with a broken hand.

It's the football equivalent of the Chargers losing LaDanian Tomlinson.
