Found this interview w/ the former Who frontman in The New York Dailey News: (This is just one question from the piece)

What do you think of contemporary rock? Do you have any favorites?

Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Franz Ferdinand ... there's a load of great small bands coming up in England. There seems to be a lot more anger over there — or maybe they're better at articulating it. Now Green Day — that's a great f—' band. They're great musicians, and, when they play, they mean it.

:hmm: so he's not too busy pushing those lifetime magazine classic rock box sets in late-night infomercials to be hip to the current trash trends? true rennaisance man.

Muse are quite big now. i still hate them tho.

i'm glad he recognises the amount of great new bands coming out of this country though
