I recently loaded Microsoft Office 2000 on my computer. One of the items on Microsoft 2000 is Outlook which is a calender/contact list/email/etc program. I would very much like to use the email function. However, when I try to put my info in it on the 3rd screen it starts asking me about what my incoming and outgoing mail servers are? I have know idea what this means and what I should enter?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Paul

Paul,

it depends on your mail server i.e the service that provides you e-mail access.

An example: if you are using Outlook to d/l messages from your, say, Myrealbox e-mail account, here's what you put in:

Incoming mail: imap.myrealbox.com
Outgoing mail: smtp.myrealbox.com

If you're not sure, do email your service provider.

when you sign up with your isp, they should provide you information on what your incoming and outcoming servers are. i have found they're generally pop3 for incoming and smtp for outcoming. and those might or might not be featured in the addresses you plug in. good luck!
