they opened a burlesque place in Minneapolis after I moved out.

Yes..it is supposed to be done tastefully...not about porn as much as art. Haven't had the opportunity to check the place out yet.

Also heard it has a good menu.

As for the stripper dancing/aerobic...I think Boomchaa was talking about a class where she is from.

There's a museum out near Barstow called Exotic World. I've been. It's run by a former exotic dancer who's still got it and she's the first one to tell you so. There's quite a large collection of pictures and costumes from the 50s and 60s. Every year there's a Miss Exotic World Contest. I couldn't go this year, but The Man and some of our friends went. They loved it.

That said, I don't have the muscle tone or the balance to do that!

i suppose atlanta just wants to stick to the pure all out nudity!

there was a massive auction over the weekend for a notrious stip club here that was busted up by the feds a few years back because of the mob relations it had. anyhow they auctioned things such as stipper poles, some strippers clothing *which we know is not a whole lot*, art and couches. the radio dj's were grossed out about the couches being auctioned off because of well all of the "DNA" that would be found on it. :barf: anyhow the guy who was in charge of auctioning the items stated that at least one couch went to a fraternity house! nice!'

i must confess that i wouldn't mind seeing how tough it would be to balance yourself on a pole. some of those moves look like they make your muscles burn like hell.

I haven't seen the pole dancing but, yes, burlesque has gotten really big in L.A. during the last year. I frequent a classy club at which, along with their weekly jazz night, they hold an occasional burlesque show and it is good stuff, done tastefully. Oh wait, it was quite interesting one of the first times I showed up there last year to meet friends and see some good music. It turned out that they had a floor show in between music sets during which a woman (who turned out to be Marilyn Manson's girlfriend Dita Von Teese) did a strip tease and stripped down to a thong and tiny top. Seriously, my jaw dropped to the floor, as did the jaw of just about everyone else there. I was like, "holy ****, who the....? What the...?" What a surprise. And then a month or two later she was on the cover of Playboy. Anyhoo, yeah, burlesque is the latest fad.

:eyebrow:

Good menu ... Riiiiiiiiiight ...

They say Hooters had good chicken wings.

I don't think the menu is what brings people to a burlesque show.
