my two all-time favorite movies:

Amores Perros (Mexico)
Perro Andaluz (c'mon, is Dali and Buñuel working together!, it's the weirdest short film ever made)
Dogville (Denmark/Sweden/France/Norway/Netherlands/Finland/Germany/USA/UK)

those movies are great.... Dogville is one of my favorites. "Perro Andaluz" is awesome... it has a really weird scene when a guy cuts a girl's eye... that's scary

some more:

memento
Run Lola Run
Kurosawa's Dreams

i LOVE this film.

i've seen it many, many times. keifer sutherland is brilliant in it. i love the subtle 'little red riding hood' theme. the basket she carries with the gun in it, on her way to gramma's house, keifer sutherland preying on her like a wolf.

i love when reese is leaving the courtroom and she shouts, "FUCK ALL Y'ALL!"

if you liked this one, you'd also like 'love and a .45' with rene zelleweger, way before tom cruise had her at hello. she plays starlene, an adorable little white trash criminal. it's great.

my picks are the before sunrise, before sunset films.

sid and nancy
boogie nights

 to lola as well.

a few I can think of right now

Election
Capturing The Friedmans
The Pianist

There was a movie about Saddam Hussein, I can't think of the title but it had "Saddam" in it

I love the courtroom scene when the disfigured Keifer enters...."who got beat with the ugly stick Bob!"

Also Reese Witherspoon and Brittany Murphy kissing always adds a star to a movies overall rating.

i really didn't like that movie. it was good. i just didn't like it.

The Station Agent.
The Barbarian Invasions.
Primer.
Little Otik.
Seven Samurai - BETTER than Rashomon, methinks
Before Sunset
Satyajit Ray's Apu trilogy - it beat Visconti, Kurosawa at Cannes in the 50s, and it was a debut filmmaking effort
Ong Bak Muray Thai Warrior - even if you're not a martial arts fan, the no-special-effects stunts will blow you away
Nobody Knows
Matthew Barney's Cremaster Cycle - not for the faint hearted either

foray

haha I remember a funny line " are you gonna do sex to my dead body?"

The forbbiden zone

starring: the mystic knights of the oingo boingo

directed by richard elfman

music by danny elfman, a great cult classic, kinda like alice in wonderland meets the little rascals

Local Hero

An American is sent to a small Scottish town to buy it up for his employer (Oil Company). Funny script and great music from Mark Knopfler. It's one of my favourites

No Man's Land.

The Bosnian movie that won Best Foreign Picture some years ago.

Brilliant.

But not as funny in English.

UHF with Weird Al Yankovic
The Naked Gun Trilogy and Wrongfully Accused starring Leslie Neilsen
Thumb Wars
US Seals Dead Or Alive

Breaking the Waves (altho very, very depressing)
Jawbreaker (shitty teen flick, but I liked it much better than Mean Girls)
Opposite of Sex
Buffalo '66
Velvet Goldmine

heathers

'dear diary, my teen angst has a body count!'

i love this movie.

Trainspotting and the Committments

Actually, I love British films in general. Even the nobody actors are better than the majority of the crap in Hollywood. Must be the newfie in me,
