Brewers promising Minor Leaguer might not be pitching for awhile...

Luis Martinez has been accused of shooting a man three times in an incident Saturday in the Dominican Republic.

Police believe Martinez shot Rafael Encarnacion Quezada in a hotel parking lot on Saturday morning. The man is currently in critical condition after being shot twice in the chest and once in the left leg. Martinez hasn't turned himself in, but he has been in contact with his winter ball GM since the incident. "Martinez got in touch with us by phone this afternoon and gave his version of what happened," Licey GM Fernando Ravelo told The Associated Press. "He's not running [from authorities], he's just scared."

Martinez went 12-5, 2.14 ERA, 160 IP, 130 Hits, 73 BB, 172 K - between AA/AAA(Mil), 22 years old.

I thought it was impossible to have the words "promising" and "Brewers" in the same sentence?

they have six years before eligible for free agency.

so, maybe after 1 or 2 years they'll mature well enough and after their third year they'll be up for arbitration, give them a little pay day, but trade them by the end of the sixth year.

or they could just trade them before arbitration.
