So I about to write some poems about baseball for submission to a literary journal. Superthread what are your favorite things about baseball?

The last three innings of a good game. Watching it live. Debating it with friends and family as it's happening. Sitting on the Jersey shore all summer with the paper in hand, a radio at your side, discussing how so-and-so's been doing lately or how the manager's moves have been questionable. Reading pieces of an article to use as a discussion point. Making running jokes about ballplayers or broadcasters. Essentially, how baseball brings me and my family and friends together somehow.

i just finished working on mine though, and i love it. i might need to change the order of the second half, but the songs are great. no duplicate artists, i didn't use any of the songs i've used in any of the desert island threads...

Wow. I haven't even started mine. I just know that I want to be in on it. It'll probably take me a good week to get mine in order (that is, if I make it into the competition).

i don't think i'm very good at making multi-artist playlists so i'm not gonna do it. i usually just make "best ofs" for most artists. for u2 i have a bunch of different playlists for various moods and inclinations.

Because I took ... probably about 20 minutes to cross a bridge over a railway line. But ... I had a camera and there were a lot of trains, plus trams running across the bridge ...

I nearly killed myself trying to look at a plane while i was driving this morning




and i own an aviation airband scanner and some of my most listened to things in iTunes are live air traffic control feeds
