Ax

Not a problem. not like I'm gonna be able to do anything right now anyway, so its all good!

How was the 'pteh?

Heh, yeah. I'll ask him what he thinks, and if something can be arranged, I'll swing you his e-mail address.

Oh, it was headbangtastic.

Thinking about it further, Christmas tree in November? :tsk:

:tsk: I know!

But then I tsk anybody who sets up their tree more than 12 days before Christmas.

Sweet! Even if I just get the software you guys use, I can probably work something out.

headbangtastic

As for us, we usually put our tree up on the first or second weekend in december. although last year we didn't have one at all!

We usually (to the despair of my Dad) get a real tree, so we just get it a week or so before Christmas day.

As it is, I'm sick of Christmas already. Euuw, commercialism.

Yeah, I'm pretty over Christmas ... I have a tree, but I may need to be coaxed into putting it up. Not sure I'll do it of my own volition!

Dreading trying to figure out what to buy people.

Travis and I have our first tree put up :cute:. I forgot to get ornament hooks, but, here's the picture he took of the lights and garland. Anyone have advice on making it look a tad better?

If I may expand on this a bit, here's a couple more pics, giving something of a before/after effect:

:cute: It needs a star on top!

There is indeed an angel in the room (besides Ashley :cute: ), but it's still in the box. She wants me (the man of the house, apparently :slant: ) to do the honor and place it on top when I head out her way in December.

Eh, trees get more expensive the longer you wait.

I may actually end up decorating the outside of the house this year for the first time. I don't care about falling off the roof and cracking my skull; forwarding the Christmas spirit to others for three weeks is far more significant.

I usually am super anti-christmas before thanksgiving, but I won't be around to put it up til Monday and I got over-excited.

I love Christmas. So much. I hate hearing about how commercialized it is because I just love giving people gifts. So...yeah

Also, I'll be sending out Christmas cards this year :)

You guys are decorating the tree via webcam? :lol:/:cute:

I just find Christmas stressful and stuff. I haven't enjoyed it since I was eleven. I miss enjoying it.

I'll do my intentionally terrible cards again this year, though!

And I noticed somebody near me has their Christmas lights out already ... passed it walking home from Opeth. Felt kind of incongruous!

Wow. That's tough. I haven't enjoyed it since I was 11 too and I'm only 15! It's been nothing but family hatred since that year. The Christmas spirit has just left the building. Plus I've grown out of that stage where you love Christmas and it's the one time you look forward to. I don't get anything anymore except some cash. It's not like I care it's just I miss all the unwrapping and the giving of the gifts. People in my family are growing older and less and less presents are being handed out each year. Like I said I don't want anything, I just like to see all the exchanging of gifts. Axver I hope that the enjoyment returns for you.

I can totally relate to the whole gift-exchanging thing declining sharply. It doesn't help that my family became hopelessly fragmented, and we went from these big gatherings with a lot of camraderie, presents, food, decorations, and Good Times to these small gatherings of four or five people eating a reserved meal, giving a few presents, and then just doing whatever we normally do on a weekend. Sometimes it was nice to have these small gatherings, especially when I've had it with people I don't see much any more, but normally it's ... really unremarkable, and not a special time, you know?

And this year, I'll probably spend Christmas by myself. I was hoping some family would be coming down to me in Melbourne, but that's now not going to be possible. I'm not too disappointed though ... I haven't had Christmas at my own place for years, so I'll like having it on my own terms.

Holy shit, it's raining heavily here in Melbourne for the second time in the last few days! It's the Apocalypse.

Or, wait, maybe the scalding heat of a week ago was the Apocalypse.

You can never be sure around these parts.

Shepp just got bucketed on, thundered on and lighting-ed on :D

Trees blown out of the ground, marker posts....dogs being blown in the opposite direction they're walking in :lmao:

Thunder's cracking something fierce out there; lightning must be doing a number. Power and Intarwebz haven't been cut yet though!

Its pretty clear now, just overcast with light rain, and a fair old wind.

That was an epic storm, I wish it wasn't so windy, and would have hung around for the arvo!

Man, that sucks. Well I guess just enjoy the silence (if there is any) and listen to plenty U2.:D We still have family come over but it's gotten less and less initiated over the years. I don't mind family coming down but sometimes they can be a pain in the ass. After so long they get on my nerves. I better prpare myself and my belongings so they don't get destroyed. So it's just you? No friends or anything?

Christmas is very important to me, despite not being a Christian or anything. It's all about big family gatherings in either Adelaide or the country, depending on which side of the family it's on. I should probably go to Sydney for one someday. I guess the problem is, the family's full of zany characters that you can't really spend too long around at once, so the whole thing becomes tiring very quickly. But presents!
