Rules: Vote for your LEAST favorite song. This poll will be open for 24 hours, at which point the song with the most votes will be eliminated from the competition and the next round will be started. This process will continue until only one song remains in the 'Please Please Me' draw, and we move on to the next LP. And so on and so forth.

In the event of a tie, the tied songs will be eliminated together, UNLESS it is a tie between the final two songs in any draw, in which case the voting time will be extended.

Once again, if any of you don't have access to this LP and would like to hear the songs you don't know, tell me in this thread and I will link you up via PM to a zip file containing the whole album.

Let's up the voting for people - the more participation, the better!

You should just say In My Life wins this album and move on to the next.

And disrespect masterpieces such as 'Norwegian Wood', 'Nowhere Man', 'Drive My Car', and Harrison's 'Think For Yourself'? Never!

agreed.

i also agree with zootelesque--girl does suck.

i don't frequent these threads because i think survivors are stupid. so if you cleared this up at some point, i'm sorry, i missed it. if you don't want to type out your answer again, just direct me to that thread. the question is, what track listings are you using as a basis? my copy of rubber soul looks quite different. nowhere man, drive my car, those were singles and not on the album.

You might be looking at the U.S. version.

I am using the UK discography. The UK discography is the discography as the Beatles intended it. The US discography is the product of a record company playing God. Unfortunately, an entire generation of American Beatles listeners are more familiar with the U.S. discography.

But.. the albums that are available in stores in the US are all UK versions, aren't they? I thought the official versions were the UK ones! I've never even seen US versions at Best Buy or Barnes & Noble or Borders or any of those stores.

Aw Coriander, I like What Goes On. Love singing along with it.

did you mean to break my heart and watch me die? tell me why!

ah, as in meet the beatles.

i checked my cd case. it jives with what you posted, but when i was a kid i listened to my parents' very american-released vinyl. i never got why "it's only love" was on both rubber soul and help...that's why?

The original American releases are different from their British counterparts up to Revolver. St. Pepper was the first album that was the same in both countries.

The UK versions are the ones that the Beatles created themselves, and therefore are considered the official versions. The original US albums were mash-ups created by Capitol - they wanted to include singles to maximize sales. On top of it, the sound quality of the US versions left a lot to be desired.

The US versions were never issued on CD until a couple of years ago, when two Beatles box sets were released containing the "Americanized" versions of the albums.

Oh, and as far as the poll goes, Girl is definitely the worst song on this record.
