Screwtape, I think I am going to do Britpop. When is it due?

There is no due date. The thread will continue on for as long as people have genres to introduce others to. To answer your question, whenever you feel ready. Remember you can upload links and use Youtube. It is all up to you. :)

 May I e-mail in to you then, in that case or do you need a break of me e-mail you things?

I realize that's vague - to be clear, I can do both chick folk rock from the 60s to today (Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls, etc) and American Folk/Protest music (Dylan, though I'm not big on him, Pete Seeger, The Weavers, Peter Paul and Mary, Woody Guthrie, etc).

I would be very interested in protest folk

I'm also starting to get curious about New Wave Khan :sexywink:

Punk Cabaret

Punk Cabaret is the name given to the style of a duo called The Dresden Dolls. Punk cabaret mixes punk tendencies and energy with the style of cabaret. The Dresden Dolls formed in the early 2000’s so this is a relatively new genre. It has a devoted following though will no doubt spawn new artists in the coming years and decades. So where does the cabaret fit in? Lead singer and pianist Amanda Palmer’s style of playing and music are both derived from cabaret. Drummer Brian Viglione often adds a cabaret flare. They are going on tour soon so you should try to catch them. Overall it is a young and exciting genre that will grow in the coming years. Here are some Youtube videos:

Enjoy. Leave comments and thoughts.

Attention everyone:

Instead of posting your genre introduction in this thread, I want you to create a new thread for it. Use the genre name as your title. This way everyone can see when a new genre is up and people just visiting B&C can get introduced as well. Post your thread whenever you are ready.
