My favorite comedian Marc Maron is playing at the Tampa Improv and should not be missed.
http://www.tampaimprov.com/schedule.asp

To get a sample of what he's like go here: http://www.marcmaron.com/maron/media.html and for more recent topical stuff, here: http://www.bluerosestudios.net/maron/maron.html

I'm going to the Friday show(s). If anyone else here is going, let me know. Perhaps we can arrange a sort of drink-up or get together.

Marc is not your normal stand-up. He has an intelligence and insight that isn't usually seen in comedians. It's a damn shame more people don't know about him.
www.marcmaron.com has some other dates as well.

Also, I'll be in Tampa much of Friday, anyone know some worthwhile record stores there?

I'm bumping this once, cause I'm going to be in Tampa all day and I will be really bored for most of it.

Where can I Go in Tampa during the day that would be entertaining? Book shops, music shops, shops, cafes', museums, whatever.

thanks

Same Old Story

Ybor is still borderline not so safe, but then those are places I like to go.

I've been there a few times with some friends, mainly to go to the CASTLE which is anice goth club there.

thanks for the tips.

During the day you can go to Busch Gardens. Mel's Hot Dogs is across the street - famous place if you like hot dogs. I haven't lived or been there since '89 so I can't recall much else. Do they still have Jai Alia games?

Mostly my activities were limited to night excursions to Ybor City. It was a borderline not so safe area 14 years ago so I can't even imagine what it's like now.
