Haha, well, you must surely understand that the latter is vital in every FYM thread. To be honest, those sorts of discussions wouldn't be half as mad if it weren't for that Indy guy. Funnily enough, I used to think he actually was a sarcastic poster assuming the alter-ego of a right-wing loony.

I was going to post something about how I would change Australia or whatever but now the urge to do it has waned considerably.

I'm kind of with Vlad in that you should still do it, just because I'm morbidly curious how terrible it will become.

The place was indeed a bit quieter when he wasn't around. Seriously, I sometimes wonder about him, if he isn't intentionally distorting what other people say. I stay out of his way just for the sake of my blood pressure.

And I think it'd be cool if you still did it. I was hoping there would be some more Aussie/Kiwi discussion and ideas in there.

Well, for one, it certainly wouldn't be as detailed as what you and a few others are discussing. I may still, but I'm not particularly as well-versed in Australian political history as I think I should be.

And of course, it would start with a "but we gotta start a revolution first!11!!!" which would unsurprisingly annoy a few, but I think that's a good thing.

I'm kind of tempted to make increasingly overtly socialistic comments about Australia/New Zealand to see if Indy actually replies, or if he really is incapable of envisaging a world outside the US.

Thumbs up to nick Xenophon for naming the pedo priest in parliament. The only decent thing a polli has done lately.

If I were more of a troll, I'd just go completely into the deep end and start advocating Sharia Law.

Yeah, while I can understand some of the qualms people have with Xenophon naming somebody who is yet to face trial and has been convicted of nothing, the Catholic Church has been disgracefully dragging its feet for so long that something radical like this needed to be done. A swift kick up their backsides may just spur them into some bloody long overdue action.

And nothing is taxing your arse re: carbon. Unless I am grossly mistaken and you are living a double life as a director of BHP, anyway!

This is getting profoundly disturbing, a reprehensible race to the bottom: Lawyers warn migration changes may block courts - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Also, proof that Tony Abbott is less about sticking to any particular ideology and more about opposing EVERYTHING:

Quote:
Mr Abbott so far appears unlikely to back the move, saying it would remove human rights protections, resulting in a system of "offshore dumping".
But that's a perfect description of everything he has ever advocated, and he has barely even tried to disguise it!

Obviously it's a great shame muslim cleric Abdul Benbrika and others couldn't be brought to trial for conspiring to make an act of terrorism, but 95% of the comments on news websites are about yep, you guessed it...

Hahaha, I don't know if you mean me Ali, but I was getting all slanty faced when it happened: mainly because I was heading to the airport in Sydney by bus & the Federal Highway was my only way outta town
