I'm actually not keeping up with it as much as I should be, but it just strikes me as a lot of inner-party Labor bickering, which isn't surprising in the least. Still unsure if Weatherill's cut out for the job.

He went to my previous high school, that's all I know about Weatherill. Can't say that state politics excites me terribly.

State politics would excite me if the government did things.

In state politics you don't need to have " policies to get into power. All you need is the "time for a change" time to be timely (as it was for Baillieu in Victoria last year).

Ax, I assume you're gutted/furious about the high-speed rail thing being scrapped (again)?

I never expected anything to come of it in the first place! Only been about forty years since it was first proposed.

Infrastructure development never happens in this country, unless it's some useless highway.

Geelong Addy asked on facebook: "are the census questions too intrusive?" cue comment after comment from bogans complaining that, once again, their rights as human beings are being violated.

I love the people who are fretting over this question or that question being too intrusive, as if anybody gives a flying fuck about them individually, and instead of collating the data to draw meaningful conclusions about groups, is going to send the full force of the federal government after them to take their ill-gotten money/arrest them for not going to work today/take them away to Room 101.

Fun fact 1: No census data is passed on to other groups (and let's be honest, the shitloads of data Centrelink and the ATO have on everybody already covers just about anything on the census), and never will be unless you agree to question 60, aka having your data released in 99 years' time. Nobody has ever been fined or prosecuted on the basis of what they put on a census. The information is treated as confidential.

Fun fact 2: Asking people to put their full name, address, and employment information is not actually necessary for the census's purposes, however it has been discovered that people provide more honest, accurate, and complete answers when asked to do so.

I had great fun filling it in.

Especially when I described the goods produced or service provided by my employer as "a damn good tertiary education". I hope that gives some bored research assistant a giggle when my data is released by the national archives in 2110.

You mean when the Grand High Jedi Council who will be ruling the world then seeks to learn more about their founding fathers?

Just finished ours online... That babies question threw me! *L* There wasn't a "never ever ever in a million years" option, alas.

That's what I said. Apparently he was "inspirational" because he taught people to focus on their "aesthetics" to get da chickz, whilst abusing steroids.

It's unfortunate that a man died so young etc, but can I say how unattractive I find that look: the whole fake tan, fake hair, fake teeth, ripped, and the tatts :bleurgh:
