i had an idea about a possible tattoo for me. anyone who knows irish gaelic can feel free to tell me these words are wrong. they should say peace, love, and happiness (well, the word i got meant happy). i'd rather have the word for tranquility instead of happy, but whatever.

I have one tattoo. It's on the lower right side of my back just above my hip. I got it eight years ago... it's a daisy with some small flowers and vines by it, as well as a small purple calla lily. It's ok. I kind of wish I got something centred in the small of my back but whatever.
I also do not have a picture of it.
It's in dire need of an ink touch up.

I'd like to get another one eventually. Something U2 or Russia related.

meggie i love your tattoo i've been thinking of getting that same one on my back towards my right shoulder blade. im waiting to change back to my maiden name (wednesday)to do the deed. then comes the hard part. having it done. lol

how come? they don't really hurt. well, tattoo #3 hurt like hell and i was limping for a month, but then again it also took an hour and a half to do (as compared to 10-15 minutes for the other ones), was very detailed, and very colourful.

i'd recommend everyone, for their first tattoo (if they're kinda nervous about it) to start off small. also, for the first tattoo, avoid using a bunch of colours. stick to just black if you can. also, avoid having them fill in a large space with the same colour because then they have to use the big needle which hurts more.

my first one didn't hurt at all. my second one did only at the end when she was trying to fill in the purple and it was getting to the point where it was impossible and it got uncomfortable. the third, like i mentioned, hurt a lot. the fourth didn't hurt much, i was just so antsy that it felt like it took a lot longer to do than it really did.

i'm not sure what freaks me out about it so much. i think it's a needle thing. i'm not in the least bit afriad of getting my nose broken or my head kicked in, but needles freak me out. it's the same as i can watch a movie like "gangs of ny" but then feel absolutly sick during the suicide attempt scene in the "royal tennenbaums"...

there's the permanence factor too...i can't have a favourite ANYTHING for a long enough time period, and can't comprehend ALWAYS having this thing on my arm or wherever for the rest of my life...

i'm too lazy to take pics and post them, but as i've mentioned, i have two tattoos: a colorful orchid flower on my ankle and a very simple, black outline of a dove flying with a string in it's mouth that forms the shape of a heart (on my upper right shoulder blade).

...i'm contemplating getting the orchid on my ankle removed though
