a long wait means a relatively poor album?

I think you have to add to that whether they have entered a different stage in their life. Kate Bush for example became a parent between Red Shoes and Aerial. Peter Gabriel went through a divorce between So and Us. Todd Rundgren's children grew a lot older between World Wide Epiphany and Liars. All of those albums were enhanced by those changes. I don't any about Thom York but if he has entered a different stage in his life then I would guess that you'll like the results.
