NEWSFLASH

41-38 Texas over USC in the Rosebowl for the NC. Very good game, imo, as both teams fought hard and could have won.

But let us also consider the coming offseason...... if you are into it enough, the CFseason just never ends..... so get your favorite games ready for the long, hard offseason, the post season, the coming preseason, it's all hear.

Happy New Year

The weekend of september 16 is probably going to be a grueling period of time in this thread. Heh heh heh:evil: especially because I'll be outnumbered.

Looking forward to it

here's a few more of interest
Notre Dame 2006 schedule

Sept. 2 at Georgia Tech
Sept. 9 PENN STATE
Sept. 16 MICHIGAN
Sept. 23 at Michigan State
Sept. 30 PURDUE
Oct. 7 STANFORD
Oct. 21 UCLA
Oct. 28 at Navy (Baltimore, Md.)
Nov. 4 NORTH CAROLINA
Nov. 11 at Air Force
Nov. 18 ARMY
Nov. 25 at USC

What a month of September for Notre Dame. But after September, there's only 2 tough games left on their schedule.

Ohio State 2006 schedule

Sept. 2 NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Sept. 9 at Texas
Sept. 16 CINCINNATI
Sept. 23 PENN STATE
Sept. 30 at Iowa
Oct. 7 BOWLING GREEN
Oct. 14 at Michigan State
Oct. 21 INDIANA
Oct. 28 MINNESOTA
Nov. 4 at Illinois
Nov. 11 at Northwestern
Nov. 18 MICHIGAN

Looks like the Buckeye figured that Texas was enough, and added 3 home cupcakes to fill out the non-conference schedule.

And speaking of cupcakes:

Texas Longhorns 2006 schedule

09/02 NORTH TEXAS
09/09 OHIO STATE
09/16 at Rice
09/23 IOWA STATE
09/30 SAM HOUSTON STATE
10/07 vs. Oklahoma (Dallas)
10/14 BAYLOR
10/21 at Nebraska
10/28 at Texas Tech
11/04 OKLAHOMA STATE
11/11 at Kansas State
11/24 TEXAS A&M

Compared to Notre Dame's September schedule, Texas is playing one game and 4 scrimmages.

Oddly enough, the 2007 schedule for NU is complete, yet 2006 is not.

Looks like about a 10-2 for Notre Dame, and depending on Vince Young and a couple of other Longhorn Juniors' (Griffin for one) decisions, the winner of OSU/Tex could run the table and the other team end at 11-1.
If Young and co. defect for the NFL, OSU might go unbeaten and Tex maight have 2 or 3 losses.

Looks like 5-4 plus 2 cupcakes to be named later (Nebraska's usually good for a Troy State and like North Texas, so probably 7-4)

Michigan has two cupcakes, Notre Dame, and the Big Ten minus Illinois and Purdue.

Michigan's been getting soft lately. In years past, they used to have another big game on the non-conference schedule besides Notre Dame (Miami, Florida State, Virginia, Colorado, various Pac-10 schools, Syracuse, BC, and others).

Michigan still has another game to schedule next year. Everybody now plays 12 instead of 11.

And yet, the Raiders will still draft him

As for the Rose Bowl, I just now got back from that game. At least it seemed like it took a long time to get out of that stadium.
Freaking laterals.

'06 will be interesting. It seems like it's setting up like '04 for USC, new backfield (Matt, Reggie and Lendale will be gone), but a lot returning on Defense. Look for close games early, but USC should be able to win the Pac-10. That last stretch of games though will be difficult.

My preseason number 1 is Ohio State.
