Bono up for a Globe In America

There is still Irish hope for Oscar glory next year as Jim Sheridan's movie In America is up for a couple of Golden Globes including one for Bono who wrote a song for the soundtrack.

The nominations for the 2004 Golden Globes have been announced with Jim Sheridan and his daughters Kirsten and Naomi getting the nod for their screenplay for In America.

It had been hoped that the Irish movie would be up for Best Film and Best Director but there is still consolation in the fact that it was nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Original Song as the Golden Globes are seen as a precursor to the Oscars.

Bono and his mates Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer got their nomination for the song Time Enough for Tears from the movie's soundtrack.
