U2 Contemplate The End...
Irish supergroup U2 have discussed ending the band if their success begins to dwindle, but the foursome intend to go out on a high note.
In the past U2 have shown they are media savvy, always reinventing their look and sound to stay with the times. This has kept their music relevant and their fanbase solid.
But, it seems, that even the U2 machine will have to grind to a halt someday and the guys have had serious talks about it.
The band's drummer Larry Mullen said recently, "We don't want to get shot down for becoming boring. We'd rather go into retirement finishing on a high note and knowing we've left a special legacy."
U2 are anything but "boring" at the moment - they've just released their Best of 1990-2000 which went to no.3 in the US charts and their recent Elevation Tour was an astounding success.
We think they'll be around for a while yet...
