U2, one of the best bands of all time, has released its second greatest hits album - "The Best of 1990-2000." Although U2 fans around the globe will surely debate what tracks should have been on this disc, all must respect the tracks that U2 picked for it. By anyone's standards, this disc is worth far more than its price.
For any music lover who has always wanted to get into U2, but just hasn't gotten around to it, this is the album for you. As a devoted U2 fan, I would rather have you buy all their albums one by one, but I understand that sometimes a greatest hits is the amount of time one wants to invest in a band.

"The Best of 1990-2000" has songs from each of U2's '90s albums, along with two new tracks. "Electrical Storm," a beautiful, building ballad, fits in among these other classics almost too well. "The Hands that Built America" is a great track that shows that U2 has still got it after all these years, although the song is by no means a classic.

Directed to the true U2 fans: There are a few changes I would make in this greatest hits collection. "Miss Sarajevo" should be replaced with "The Ground Beneath her Feet." "Zooropa" should replace "The First Time." "Walk On" should have been on this, as the last track, instead of "The First Time." And last, but not least, "Discotheque," one of the greatest songs of the last 10 years, should not have been remixed. The climax was ruined.

The deluxe edition of this album contains a bonus DVD (about 20 minutes long), and a second disc of the best B-sides of the '90s. Truthfully, about half of them are garbage. But the other half are gold. These are a must-have for any U2 fan. "Lady with the Spinning Head (Extended Dance Mix)" could have been a great single. "Electrical Storm" (the original version) and "Salome (Zooromancer Remix)" are also worth the extra money. The rest you can discover on your own.

For a greatest hits, U2's "The Best of 1990-2000" does a superb job. Everyone in the world should own some U2. The B-sides are also worth the investment, but only if you are already a fan. Also look for the DVD for the greatest hits on Dec. 10. And remember, buy U2 before it's too late. They may just be the best band, anywhere, ever. But they won't be around forever.
