(Iowa-AP) -- U2's lead man will speak at the University of Iowa to promote World AIDS Day.
Bono will speak December 2nd.
His visit is part of a nationwide tour to promote awareness of the AIDS epidemic in Africa and developing countries.
Earlier this year, he toured Africa with the U-S Treasury Secretary to raise awareness of the problems faced by the world's poorest continent.
About 300 people lined up at the Iowa Memorial Union yesterday to get a free ticket to the event.
The university had fewer than 100 tickets remaining late yesterday.
