HOLLYWOOD, CA Tuesday 10.8.2002 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Being a humanitarian does have its rewards. And we're not just talking about the glow of a job done well. Sometimes you get a really neat title, too.
Bono has been named the 2003 MusiCares Person of the Year by the Recording Academy for his ongoing work to make the world better.
Bono will be honored at a tribute dinner, concert, and silent auction on Feb. 21, 2003 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York. We don't know who will be performing at the show. But we do know that money raised at the party will benefit the MusiCares Financial Assistance Program ? they are dedicated to lending a hand to music professionals who are down on their luck.
