Bono is 'most influential person in music'

Bono has been named the most powerful person in the music business by Q Magazine.

The U2 singer topped Q's first ever Music Biz Power List which asked senior music industry figures who they thought was the most influential.

Eminem, Paul McCartney, Kurt Cobain and Thom Yorke are also included in the Top 10 - with Pop Idol boss Simon Fuller at number 10.

Simon Cowell was placed at 28, ahead of Kylie Minogue (29), Moby (30) and Madonna (31).

The top 10 is:
1. Bono
2. Doug Morris, Head of Universal Music
3. Eminem
4. L Lowry Mays, Founder and head of American media company Clear Channel
5. Kurt Cobain
6. Thom Yorke
7. Lyor Cohen, President/CEO of Island Def Jam
8. Clive Calder: The head of Zomba music
9. Sir Paul McCartney & Yoko Ono
10. Simon Fuller.

The 50 Most Powerful People in Music 2002 is in the November issue of Q Magazine.
