Rumours that U2 are to play a mammoth gig at New York Times Square have been flatly denied by a UK spokesperson for the band.
The New York Post had suggested the band would play alongside US rockers Bon Jovi in front of hundreds of thousands of people for the show reported to be taking place on September 5.
In related news, the Irish rockers are rumoured to be releasing a new single, 'Electric Storm' sometime in October. The single plus one additional new track will feature on the band's upcoming 'Best Of' set for release on November 18.
