Britney IS a bitch. She came to my town once. Word got around that people who met her said that she called them hillbillies and wouldn't talk to them. There was also a story going around that the parents of a girl in the hospital with cancer asked Britney if she could go visit their daughter. Do you think she did? Of course not! She refused and said, "If I visit her, then I'll have to visit all the sick kids!" I have no respect for her whatsoever, and I hope Bono washed his mouth after he kissed her hand.

Also, isn't her live show a little... porn-ish now?

i agree, i'm a 16 year old girl i've never listened to any britney just rock music (and i'm not a goth) my favorite bands are U2 and Metallica i also hang out with girls who like the same kind of music.
 
Why is it such a shock to some of you that his kids still listen to pop music? Yes, there's many kids around Bono's girls' ages out there who listen to rock music, but there's also a lot of kids those ages who do still listen to pop music, too. My sister's 16, and she still listens to it. And besides that, listening to pop music doesn't automatically mean that you don't listen to any other kind of music-his kids could like pop music and also like a lot of rock music, too.

Anywho, on to the story...if this is true, that's pretty rude, considering she let other people in (if she hadn't let anyone in, period, I would accept the whole "bad day" argument that was made, but since she didn't...). However, I fail to see how comments like "Ho" or things along that line relate to this. How does her being rude automatically equate to her being a ho or something?

Maybe Bono's kids don't really LIKE her, maybe they just wanted to see her just to see her. Like when there's an eclipse. People look at it even if they're not interested in astronomy because it's not something that just happens every day.

If it is true, I'm sure they weren't THAT upset because I'm sure Bono knows what it's like to be tired after a concert and have people banging down his dressing room door.

And I was raised on classic rock and my appreciation for it grew when I was a teenager. My high school mix tapes included healthy doses of Floyd, Led Zep, etc. On the other hand, someone I used to work with just turned 23 and she's madly in love with Justin Timberlake and was dying to see Britney when she came around this way. Taste (or lack thereof) doesn't know age.

I think it's because Bono is such a credible musician and one would expect those around him to have had the chance to know more than the average kids their age. A lot of kids fall into the trendy trap because they haven't had a chance to learn about or hear other music and the parents don't take time to teach them. I would think a music star of Bono's stature would have kids who were better educated than to ever give that trendy stuff the time of day.

Then there's the rebellious thing. Grace Slick once said that whe her daughter was a teenager she dressed like a prep and listened to stuff she knew she didn't like just to get her goat because she knew she was a hippy. Sometimes that happens, the kids go the opposite way of the parents just to be different. Grace's daughter did change for the better though, and for awhile was a VJ on MTV. Her name is China Slick Kantner.

All this certainly makes sense.

But again I say, how do we know that his kids don't also listen to music from other genres? I know people who listen to everything from Justin Timberlake to the Stones. And besides that, if they want to listen to music along these lines...that's their choice, isn't it? It may not be to your liking, which is fine, but it doesn't automatically mean they have horrible taste in music or something.

When your mind is on what Collin can do for you *wink, wink*, then everything else doesn't matter. And on the other side of the fence, we all know what Collin really wants as well. Actually it might be a two way street in that regard. But the point is that we all know she will throw herself onto some guy which is more important than meeting with her fans. Therefore, she is a HO. It's all about sex, weather she gets any or not. And it sure seemed like she was trying!

You never hear about them going to any other shows or asking to meet anyone else. I would find it a personal embarrassment and would do nothing to encourage it. Course, you have to hurry if you want to see these losers, their careers don't last long! :laugh:

That just seems like a pretty hefty assumption to me, personally. She might've been asking him back there just to have sex with him, or she might've asked him back for some other reason. The whole "ho" comment thing just bugs me, personally-it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine.

Maybe people just find surprise in seeing rock stars go to pop stars' concerts-it wouldn't really be much of a shock if Bono went to a concert of another rock artist, would it?

Who knows, maybe all they listen to is pop. I'm just saying that liking stuff like Britney Spears doesn't automatically mean that you won't listen to other genres, too. I went through a teenybopper phase, but I did also listen to music of other genres, too.

That's fine-your opinion. But others do like that music, so it just seems silly to me to insult them for liking it, or saying that they don't know what good music is. Well, to them, that is good music. I know people who would think that since I listen to U2, I don't have good taste in music. It's all people's personal opinions.

Someone mentioned that when Bono kissed Britney's hand at the Grammy's he was drunk...ever think Britney thought that was disgusting (let's face it, he's old enough to be her dad) and wanted nothing to do with him? I mean, I've heard kids Britney's age completely dismiss guys I think are stunning because of their age (then again I look at some of the younger performers and think "hmmm... he might look like something in 15 or 20 years"...).

Ever think she didn't particularly care for what could be perceived as an attitude of "I'm a star. She'll see us." by Bono? Face it, there were loads of young kids at that show that would have loved to meet Britney, should she have to meet all 20,000 fans? And perhaps Colin Farell's neighbor kids were on "the list"and Bono's were not. A backstage is for facility personel (if they are supposed to have access), performers and the people they wish to allow back. That's all.

As for Bono's kids' musical taste...do you only listen to the music your parents listened to when you were his kids ages? Or did/do you make your own choices? To U2 fans Bono is a talented musician, etc, etc, but to his kids, he's most likely just dad (and perhaps a rather embarrassing one at that at times...come on admit it everyone's parents are embarrassing when you're a teenager).

I think everyone is so riled up here because she represents so much of the shite that has been in pop culture for the last 5 years.

......the fact that she has been around for 5 years is mind numbing.
 
According to a recent story, Spears hurt her knee while filming a video. It may require surgery. So if you believe in karma, perhaps Britney just received some pay back. :)

2 pages of bitching because Britney (who no one has to like musically - and no one here knows her personally) didn't feel like playing the hostess to a bunch of kids (which she doesn't have to like/meet/pander to/media whore herself over).

Some of us in PLEBA smell a rat here. Colin Farrell, as it turns out, wasn't even in Ireland when Britney was. We were also wondering how in hell Bono got out in public in Dublin without ShowBizIreland or someone showing up with their cameras. We also wonder if Bono would have taken all four of his kids to Britney's show in the first place. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. This is not a completely reliable source. I'm not trying to start a controversy here, I'm just saying that some of us think this might be a media fabrication, just like that silly story about "Bono's Flying Hat".
 
Yes, PLEBA is good at sniffing out rats :lol: This very well could be fake, just like that dumb 'flying hat' story.

I don't think the fact that there are no pics is evidence though, there were no pics of them meeting Justin Timberlake or Brad Pitt even though they supposedly did, and no one is going to take a pic of an event that never happened, a non-meeting. But the Colin Farrel being out of the country is a good indication the story is BS.
 
Speaking of Colin Farrell, he will soon be in my area filming a movie called "The New World" about Jamestown, where he will play Capt. John Smith (who was about 5 foot tall, fat, with curly red hair and a bushy red beard, oh well) My nephews are going to a casting call tommorrow to try to get parts as extras.
 
I'm 16 and I just GOT OUT OF THE POP MUSIC CRAP a year ago.

And now I know WHY I even "LIKED" pop stars...it was strictly

because of their fame, not their music. Now I'm into what I'm

truly into. I finally grew up and AWAY from the Britney

Spears/Justin Timberlake/ and other pop crap. I've became

somewhat a "rebel" now. I'm into music that is good and true.

I still don't think it happened. I do not believe tabloids and that is all I think that this is, tabloid gossip. Britney is a publicity whore so I am sure she didn't snubbed Bono's kids but as i said before, if it is true, I can understand being tired and possibly being too over worked to meet anyone.

Good point. Especially since Collin Farrel wasn't even in the country when this supposedly took place. I dislike Brittney as much as the next person, but I'm not going to look for reasons to hate on her that may not even be true.
