WE'RE WITH KEVIN
BY SIMON MCGEE

Hollywood stars have presented an international film award to two unknown Nottingham film-makers. Movie giants Danny DeVito, Mike Myers, Annette Bening, director Cameron Crowe and U2's Bono picked a debut short film by Richard Heald and James Kibbey ahead of 1,500 entries. The 23-year-olds received the prize from Kevin Spacey at a glittering awards ceremony in New York, at the end of the Trigger Street film festival.

Their movie, In Absentia, was filmed by the student housemates in Lenton and cost virtually nothing to make. It is a tragic love story about the anguish of a man on the brink of suicide.

Film-maker Dana Brunetti, who co-founded Trigger Street.com with Kevin Spacey, told the Post from Tokyo: "In Absentia is a visual example of how a story can be fully and effectively told in a matter of minutes.''

James, of Castle Marina, said: "We can't believe how well we've done, to go from Nottingham to New York in a year. It's too surreal."

Richard, of Bobbers Mill, said: "We're awestruck to have hung out with Kevin Spacey in New York.
