Irish businessman Harry Crosbie bid highest in the online charity auction for the one-time U2-owned Harley Davidson.
In the auction, which finished at 9am this morning, Friday, ?30,000 was the final bid and Gay Byrne presented the bike to Harry Crosbie live on Irish radio station 2FM.
The bike is now set to go on display in Crosbie's Vicar St music venue, alongside assorted other memorabilia from the Irish music scene. Mr Crosbie announced he would put on a special music event featuring the best Irish Music to unveil his new acquisition.
Funds raised will go to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin, Dublin, the major hospital in Ireland catering for children, from birth to age 18. Every year, the hospital has about 20,000 child admissions and another 100,000 outpatient attendances.
