Bono Threatens Violence at the Golden Globes

Rocker Bono was so thrilled with Martin Scorsese's work on the movie Gangs Of New York, he threatened critics they'd fall victim to dangerous gangs if they didn't reward the film-maker. The U2 frontman gave the stark warning to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) before Sunday's Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, where he praised Scorsese for 20 minutes. He told HFPA members, "If he doesn't get an award tonight, I know some Irish gangs who are going to come after you tonight." Luckily for Golden Globe organizers, Scorsese won the best director award at the star-studded ceremony.
