2002'S WINNERS
We've said goodbye to 2002 but before we get our teeth into 2003 we thought it would only be right to assess the highs and lows of the last 12 months.
We've selected ten champions below (see losers here) who we felt left their mark on 2002 in their own inimitable way. Some were brash (Eminem, Robbie), others were more understated (Coldplay, Ms Dynamite) and The Osbournes just swore their heads off.
7. Bono
The U2 man lived up to his new title of 'most powerful man in music' with another selfless year of campaigning and generally fighting the powers that be despite dismissing claims he wanted to become a politician in the future. Sources to benefit from his good work included various AIDS charities, the international Drop The Debt campaign and REM's Peter Buck who called Bono as a character witness at his air-rage trial.
