Why do page 2s keep disappearing

Atleast 3 threads today have had disappearing page 2s. Where do they go? And why do they keep disappearing?

Yes the Official Grammy pic thread combusted. This happens too much. My theory is that somehow when someone is posting, they click something or somehow mess up something while the new page is being created and the entire thread does not load, so the new post just ends up as the last one after whatever had loaded, and the rest disappears.
