WGRYWH video question:

Hey,

I was browsing the archives of Pleba and saw that someone had written that Bono swears at the end of the WGRYWH video, and I admit, I watched it like 4 times trying to see it and didn't!! At the end he kinda like shakes his head and mouths "oh", that didn't look like "fuck" to me. Anyone willing to help me out here, or maybe it sometime else during the video and not at the end??

I think Bono's pottymouth is like, half the reason why my mother loves the WGRYWH video so much. Strange woman.

Long story short:
Long repetitive video shoot. Bono was tired and frustrated. This is evident in a few places. During the middle 8, on the last "don't turn around", he stops lipsynching at the middle of the word 'around' and hangs his head, tiredly. Then, at the end, comes the nice good screw-up. Perhaps he started to say 'ride' instead of 'taste'. Whatever happened, it frustrated him enough to drop the F bomb. Then, on the next line he tries again to get back in sync, but gives up, shaking his head and saying "No" then walking offscreen.

I think Bono looked the best that he ever has in that video. Love the fact that he added a little treat at the end with the F-bomb,hehe.

I remember the director of the video, Phil Joanou , saying that Bono had been doing the song over and over again during an entire night, because they only had that one day or something like it. This was one of the last takes, and he was getting burned out. duh
