I don't think it's cool that he read this at all. I find it- terrifying. Some of the stuff that happens here is, to say the least, embarrassing. Thank goodness I have never been involved in such activities!

Wow, that is unbelievable! I guess you "found what you were looking for!" Hasn't anyone said that yet? But I won't say you're 'lucky' because 'luck' had nothing to do with this! LUCK is running into them by chance on the street or the airport somewhere. This was persistance, perserverance, hard work, long hours put into a cause, running down a dream, and yes,--stalking!
This story has really taught me a lesson. When I first read these threads, I thought, oh no, I'd never do that. I always thought that the band, any band, wouldn't like having fans hanging around all the time, and I'd be afraid of getting on their nerves. When I first read the "we met Adam" thread, to be honest I thought maybe you people were being a little too zealous. But, now I know all you have to do is keep right on hanging around and Bono will open up the door and welcome you inside! This is great news for all fans! Like Mirrorball Girl said, this is all Bono's fault.
It does pay off! If these fans had never succeeded, we would have gotten that message and not bothered. But now we know these fans got what they wanted, the precedence has been set, and the advertisement is out. If this turns out to be a Pandora's box of a summer of 'stalkers,' that's what they get! It's open season on U2!

Yup... I'm almost done reading U2: at the End of the World for the second time... and every single place they went, they were met with fans waving a camera to take a picture or a piece of paper for them to sign. When they were in Japan and got lost on the way back to the hotel, Bill Flagan said the way he recognized the hotel was by the gaggle of fans out in front. Oh, that must be the place, he said.
Truly, meeting fans every day does come with the territory. And, keep in mind, people sit outside their studio more frequently than one would think. I've read many, many reports of people waiting to meet them and getting autographs or just being able to chat with them. As "At the End of the World" stated, Bono and Edge seem to be the ones who do the meet and greet and Larry and Adam seem to be the ones who wait for Bono and Edge to finish with their meet and greet. I suppose it's their personalities, too. Bono got in Larry's face about that once: He didn't think it was right just to leave a bunch of fans who have been waiting around forever to meet them just standing there looking forlorn. heh. Not saying that Larry's not a nice guy (we don't really *know* what Larry's thinking, but us Larry people sure wish we did), but he just comes across as being the type who doesn't like the publicity and doesn't like to be the center of attention.
