Did you ever wonder what was the number one song the day you were born? Or the day your parents got married? Or like Wolfy did, a day in history? Look it up on this site and let us know what you get!

http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/

I got Sugar Sugar by the Archies on the UK charts and Come Together/Something by The Beatles on the US charts.

We can do the band members too. Bono got Stuck on You by Elvis!

That is cool
In The UK I'M When I need you - Leo Sayer but I kinda like the title for the US song -
New Kid in Town - The Eagles

Oh I did my boyfriend's bday! He got cool ones!!!

the U.S. No.1 was... Another Brick in the Wall (Part II) by Pink Floyd

the U.K. No.1 was... Going Underground / Dreams Of Children by The Jam
- he loves this one, and included it on an early compilation cd he gave me!

Cool site! I got "I Love Rock 'N Roll" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on the US chart and "Seven Tears" by
The Goombay Dance Band. Goombay? That's a funny name, and I certainly have never heard of them!

US: Do You Think I'm Sexy? by Rod Stewart!

UK: Heart of Glass by Blondie

Well THAT explains a lot!

Edge got "You Don't Know" by Helen Shapiro in the UK and "Tossin' and Turnin' by Bobby Lewis in the US.

U2aremyfriends, don't bother to do Jakob, he's got the same things I've got, we were born the same week

I've heard of both your songs, real 80's classics  especially "Too Shy" boy, what a video, their hair almost rivaled Flock of Seagulls! Some of you are making me feel very old

Mine were "Somebody Help Me", the Spencer Davis Group in the UK, and "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration" by the Righteous Brothers in the US.

Cool idea! :)

the U.K. No.1 on the 6th January 1981 was... There's No One Quite Like Grandma by
St Winifred's School Choir

the U.S. No.1 on the 6th January 1981 was... (Just Like) Starting Over by
John Lennon :D

Wings is Paul McCartney's solo band. That was a good song! Debby Boone is Pat Boone's daughter. I knew someone was bound to get that one, it was #1 for like 12 weeks in a row and broke a record at the time. You were born in later '77 right;) I was a little "America's Top 40" listener in those days.

It serves me right for looking it up. I got The Ballad of Davey Crocket!! Yipes. The weird thing is, even though that was number one when I was born, I actually know how that song goes. I can even sing it! How is that possible?? Did I somehow absord it while in the womb?

Fun page - great idea!

I did my birthday (23rd November 1982) and got:

U.K.: 'I Don't Wanna Dance' by Eddy Grant

U.S.: 'Up Where We Belong' by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes :D

Haha, my parents cannot stand that Debby Boone song. :p.

UK: Too Shy by Kajagoogoo
US: Baby, Come to Me by Patti Austin and James Ingram

I've never heard these songs!

I have. :). Matter of fact, I remember my sister and I singing along to "Too Shy" all the time when we were little (it was on one of those tapes of 80s songs that we had).

Also, someone mentioned Boney M. earlier-one of the people from there shares my birthday, according to that site.

yikes, I feel ancient! I think 10 girls in my class sang that Debby Boone song at our 6th grade talent show!

My birthday songs are:

Can't Hurry Love by the Supremes in the US

Yellow Submarine / Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles in the UK

US- Funkytown by Lipps Inc.

UK- Theme from M*A*S*H* '

I don't like either one of those

No fair, I did my cousin whose birthday is today, and he got

May 26, 1987

US- With Or Without You by U2!

:scream:

*jealous*

Since others are doing this with their family members, I think I'll try it with mine. Let's see here:

On my dad's birthday:

U.S.: "Young Love" by Tab Hunter
U.K.: Same as U.S.

On my mom's birthday:

U.S.: "Singing The Blues" by Guy Mitchell
U.K.: "Just Walkin' In The Rain" by Johnnie Ray

And on my sister's birthday:

U.S.: "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?" by Whitney Houston
U.K.: "Theme From S Express" by S Express (hmm...never heard that one)
