This Christmas, I received the following U2-related items:
1) Into the Heart (Niall Stokes)
2) Walk On: The Spiritual Journey of U2
3) Elevation DVD
4) Rattle & Hum
5) Zooropa (one of my faves. I can't believe it took me this long to get a copy)
6) U2 Encyclopedia
7) Please single (from Mirrorball Girl)
8) Interview cd shaped like Adam's Head (also from Mirrorball Girl)
9) Four stick puppets of the boys a la Popmart era, yet again from and (this time) made by Mirrorball Girl. This was especially amusing since she fashioned a t-shirt for Stick Adam with a picture of herself on it. And yes, she is in fact insane. In fact, I keep her locked in the basement of my house with a bunch of spoons and buttons and a blow-up Adam doll so she doesn't put up too much of a fuss. Occasionally I let her out (for Christmas shopping, concert-going, stick-puppet making, etc.) but that's the exception rather than the rule.
I also bought the following for myself, using my Christmas money:
1) a bunch of singles (including HMTMKMKM, If God Will Send His Angels, Staring at the Sun and The Fly, among others)
2) yet more U2 books (Unforgettable Fire, Outside is America, The Complete Songs, Faraway (So Close!))
3) U2 videos (Unforgettable Fire, Numb, Best of, Under a Blood Red Sky, ZooTV Sydney and Mexico City Popmart)
Ah, yes. It was a bountiful Christmas indeed. But I got most of my "booty" off of half.com for really cheap, so it actually didn't cost all that much.
