Now, let's be gentle on our beloved Bono. You may not be able to hear much of his guitar playing, but at least it LOOKS very intense.

And I love the green Gretsch guitar, I think it's one of his most beautiful fashion accessories.

Have you seen the vid of Bono playing his accoustic guitar while singing Lucille? It's during an interview during JT. I really like it

(It's just him and the guitar, good chance to hear him play and he sounds good to me)

JT Bono and yes he did sound very good .
the whole bit about not writing with Edge , I wonder what was the long story about that .

Well, Bono can always touch himself.

And judging from many photos and videos, I'd say he's quite enjoying doing this.

I saw a video on youtube a few weeks ago where it was easy to tell which parts were Bono but I can't find it now... Maybe it was one that's already been posted though

Anyway, he can play better than me and he looks damn good holding a guitar, playing it or not

WHile Bono might not be a virtuoso player or he might not be "The Edge" he's not a horrible guitar player. Both Brian Eno and Danny Lanois have said that Bono plays well, in terms of songwriting, and has great ideas to offer.

It is hard looking good as a 2nd guitar player when you've a guitarist with such an indentifiable sound as The Edge in your band.

Which recordings is any of Bono's guitar playing on? He's buried in the "Exit" mix, as seen in the "Classic Albums: The Joshua Tree" video. There may be others that we are not told about. And live, listen to the recordings/bootlegs. I think it was Paris 1992 - The end of W-th Or Without You. The extra guitar melody bits that were added that night were from BONO and not The Edge. I think it might be on YouTube Bono starts playing a cool melody bit... he eventually makes a sort of mistake but makes the mistake part of it by repeating it as if to say "I meant to do that".

By playing on "40" most nights of the Vertigo tour, Adam Clayton played more guitar just by playing that song than Bono did on the entire tour! LOL....

staring at the sun studio version is bono's best guitar song IMO ver good and u can easily hear it is louder than edges weird electric noise guitar

stay(faraway so close) is also a song where u can easily here bonos guitar on to the zootv dvd he plays guitar by himself without edge for about a minute and a half till edge joins in
