Remember Orgasmatron??

I have been shockingly negligent at organizing Orgasmatron meetings, and I apologize profusely for this!

What do you say Edgelettes, shall we have another meeting? Maybe even a Holiday Chat betw. Xmas and New Years maybe? I have the 27th and 28th off, so I could even chat during the day if that's handy for people.

OK, in honour of the season, I think first we should post about what we would get Edge for Xmas.

I would also like to suggest we post the CUTEST Edge pics (as opposed to the sexy ones).

I'll start:

For Xmas, I would get Edge seasons tickets to the ballet (to go with me of course!)!!!

I think I would get Edge a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble. That way he could just buy some books that interest him.

*shopping for her own family has obviously left HG out of original gift ideas*

Sorry I don't have pictures, but I am enjoying the ones y'all are posting! Keep 'em coming!

And for Christmas, I would get him approval for his house addition-so that I can finally MOVE IN.

U2 Star Challenges Block On Plans For House Extension
Irish Independent, December 22, 2001

By Marese McDonagh

U2 guitarist, the Edge, has begun a legal challenge against a decision not to allow him extend his home overlooking Killiney Bay in Dalkey, Co. Dublin.

The rock star filed papers on December 14 seeking leave for a judicial review of the decision by Bord Pleanala which prevented him adding a two-storey extension, incorporating six bedrooms, to Sorrento Cottage on Vico Road.

The proposed extension which was turned down in October, measures 549 sq. metres and would also include a bar, lift, dark room, exercise room and garage.

The Edge, who had applied for planning permission under his real name of David Evans, had hoped to demolish an existing single-storey extension, a conservatory and a garage at his home leaving just 185 sq. metres of the existing construction.

Initially he was granted planning permission on January 30 by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Council but this was appealed by An Taisce to Bord Pleanala on the basis that the plans, which also included modification to the existing entrance and driveway and the installation of a new sewage sump pit, were not in keeping with zoning.

Citing the development plan, Bord Pleanala said it was the policy of the planning authority to control development in the interests of preserving the special amenity of the scenic coastal and conservation area in which Sorrento Cottage is located.

The planning authority also had a policy of ensuring no increase in the number of buildings and no major extensions would normally be permitted.

The Edge's proposed plan would contravene materially the provisions of the development plan by reason of the scale, design and relationship between the new and retained elements.

It would be out of character with the development of the area, would seriously injure the amenities of the area and would therefore be contrary to the proper planning and development of the area, said Bord Pleanala. It also rejected the musician's plans on the grounds that the scale and design would be visually intrusive and would interfere with a sea view.

eep! *faint*

oh, he's SUCH a CUTIE!!!

hmmm.... i'm not sure what i'd get him for christmas, considering he probably has it all already but, i think i'd take him out to dinner (*sigh* sad part is, the waiter'd think we were out for a father-daughter dinner) and either buy him some of the kind of shirts he likes and a nice suit(hee hee! though i think they'd be more for my pleasure than his! ) or make him something (sculpture, painting, cd of his favorite songs, etc.)

Adam, Larry, & Bono: "Eeww, he's picking his nose!! Do we have to admit we know him?!"

Edgie and his friends make me laugh!

I cannot think of what I would give the good man for Christmas, but would love to honor him by means of an Orgasmatron chat!

Larry's always been tough. He can laugh heartily telling the story of how as little kids on Christmas Eve he and his sister kept pestering their father, saying, "I think I hear Santa, Dad! I think I hear Santa!" Until their annoyed old man said "There is no Santa Claus! Now go to sleep!"

Oh, poor Edge! Bono gets to have an addition to his house, but he doesn't! I can't believe the addition would include a lift! Maybe he wants to be elevated like Bono!

Anyway, I'd love to participate in an Edge chat. I'll try my best to make it, but my schedule is kind of up in the air since I'm home from school for break. (And I'd love to see the look on my 15 year old brother's face when I told him that I was kicking him off the computer because I had to participate in an Orgasmatron chat! )

As for what to get the Edge for Christmas, that's a tricky one. He must have practically everything he could want! Maybe a Bedazzler (my cousin got one of those for Christmas, but no one realized why I thought that was so funny). Or maybe a subscription to Popular Mechanics!

Have a very merry Christmas, Edgelettes!

Hi.
This is greeneyes again. I'm borrowing Bluey's computer when she's out hunting for shiney things or something like that... I stopped listening to her a long time ago.

Anyway...
I'd like to get the Edge a couple things for Christmas. But he probably wouldn't like them *Greeneyes pushes her hair behind her ears and adjusts her glasses, looking shyly at the floor*

1. Earplugs, because he has to hang out with Bono.

2. A pair of boxers with the molecular diagram for testosterone on them.

3. A nice bedazzled shirt that has the number "6.023 x 10 (raised to the 23rd power)". That number is Avagadro's number... which is called a "mole" in chemistry ... During "Elevation" Edge could point to it and laugh whenever Bono sings "A MOLE digging in a hole"... because it's a number...get it? Nevermind.

4. "Beyonce-Away" brand pepper spray. Just because Bono hangs out with that skank, it doesn't mean that poor Edgie should have to.In fact, that brings me to my next idea.

5. I'd like to form an all girl pop group that can entertain The Edge and distract him from some of the weirdos Bono likes to be around. We could all wear lab coats and glasses and sing about intelligent, scientific subjects. We can be called "Density's Child"...you know, mass over volume. Instead of "My body's too bootylicious for you babe" we would sing: "My brain is too synaptically active for you babe". Or instead of "Say my name, say my name...if no one is around you, say baby I love you" we can sing a song about the sun and the result of fusion in it's core called "ball of flame, ball of flame...If fusion astounds you, look at the sun above you." Better yet...we can remake old songs into songs that The Edge might appriciate. For example, instead of "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" recently featured in Moulin Rouge...we can update it for The Edge's intellect and understanding of the basic princeples behind geology.

It would go a little something like this...
*Greeneyes dons her lab coat and glasses and is shoved into the spotlight*
A shelf on the land might be quite continental,
But carbon is a girl's best friend!
A glacier is ice, but it's not ornamental
as plant matter pressed flat
where dinos once sat.
Plumes grow cold and cores grow old
and we call lose our charms in the end.
But tetrahedral or laminate these rocks don't lose their shape,
Carbon is a girl's best friend!!!!

Or...you know, whatever.

Anyway that's all I have to say about that.
Umm, I have to run. Bluey's coming back in the house and she's dragging some poor confused guy in a gold suit and geshia makeup behind her.

*Greeneyes

*massaging cheeks that are sore from laughing at Greeneyes and wiping teary eyes*

God that was funny. OK. Now that I have pulled myself together....time to schedule our Edge chat!

What would you think about sometime during the day on Friday? Maybe at about 2pm? Or would Sat be better?

Should we try having it on the interference chat room? I'm still not sure how you get the private section. Does anyone know? Or maybe we could use the Will Patton Room again? Any other suggestions?

TTYS!
J
