U2's Bono was there. But then, as Pavarotti's manager, Terri Robson, told The Observer, he was looked on by the tenor 'as a son'.

C'mon, do we not forget that this was an event that put together famous people. It's sad to think so, but we know some people went there only to see and some other were there only to be seen. It's the way the story goes everywhere in the world and a funeral doesn't make difference, unfortunately.
Anyway, Pavarotti said once that he would have had people not wearing black at his funeral and that was maybe Nicoletta's choice.

He looks great. That's what i liked about the pop period as well, he doesnt need to wear a cap or something.

It was an invitation-only ceremony, that says a lot, Bono and Edge were invited, that shows how close they really were. They were sitting in the first row, Bono next to Italian director Franco Zefirelli, all were located very close to Luciano's family.
Bono was obvioulsy very much in grief and emotional pain. The italian article says he held Ali's hand and arm all the time and they embraced while Andrea Bocelli were singing. It also said that Bono and Edge didn't want to be bothered by Italian journalists, they said: Leave us alone, the pain is too big for us to speak. I think that you can clearly see that in Bono's face.
The article also says that they flew in from Dublin via private jet on Saturday in the early afternoon (Bono, Edge, their wives and Paul) and got together with Nicoletta in one of Luciano's favourite restaurants after the ceremony.
