Question about stills ?

I have a few stills that are of very high quality , does anyone know how or what is used on these that makes them so
clear ?

I use Intervideo WinDVD (That was used on the first one.) They sometimes come out squished on PowerDVD.

I use my VLC player's screen shot capabilities then, if necesary, enchase the shots with my Photo Studio softare. Also alot depends on the quality of the original video.

No. If the dvd or video is of good quality so are the stills. You can improve them somewhat with a photo program but it all comes down to how high a quality the original vid was.

Thank you. I don't stretch mine and gave up trying to enhance them long ago, what I meant about that was PowerDVD does that unless you change the settings to the size of the original frames. It is set to make them square by default.
