Quantum of Solace: Bono or Amy

A few days ago they said on MTV that Amy Winehouse would sing the title song for the new James Bond movie "Quantum of Solace", but now I heard on the radio that it would be Bono together with Shirley Bassey.
Does anyone know what's right?

Interesting....I've not heard anything about this but I am willing to do some googling. I'd much prefer Bono to Amy Winehouse.

I would love to see Bono do this but considering it would take time from the new U2 album and considering Bono's bad voice condition lately I think Amy, objectively, would be a better choice.

They've been having women singing the James Bond songs lately, so I'd be surprised if they had a guy doing it. Who was the latest male to do the song, anyway? Was it way back with "Live and Let Die"?

Quantum of Solace is a cool title, anyway.

Casino royale had Chris Cornell provide the theme song, so it hasnt just been female singers....

What makes you think Bono's voice has worsened? I think I'll have to go and get Peterrrrr...

I don't think the producers would rely on his talents a second time, though.

He and Edge wrote the theme for Goldeneye.

Which, if you can find a copy that Bono sings on instead of Tina Turner, it's pretty damn cool. Still very much channeling Mr. MacPhisto.

And really, if Bono had such a shit voice, would they still be recording?

Bono does NOT have a bad voice and I would LOVE to hear a Bond song from him. He has to sing it in his low register, really, that would be so hot.

Still, haven't really heard about this rumour so far.

Hi bambu!

Sorry I haven't replied to your e-mail yet, but I just returned from a seminar yesterday.

Hope you are ok.

Where have you heard the Bond story?

The only early one was "live and let die". Casino Royale was the only one recent one with a male signer. So there's only been two. No, wait, three. "From Russia with Love" was sung by a male singer. It's traditional to have a female voice.

No problem!
I heard it on OE3 and then I read it on several official James Bond homepages, but there are those which announce Amy W. as well.

How are you doin'?

As long as Winehouse isn't the Bond girl, I don't have any problem with her doing this.

Bono only wishes he had the suave sophistication of Bond.

There were several songs by male singers: Louis Armstrong, Duran Duran, A-HA, Tom Jones, and I just recognized that Shirley Bassey sang the song already for 3 Bond movies!
