Pronounciation of the great man's name

I also forgot there was a story I heard Bono tell to Cher (I think) about riding in an elevator in NYC and an elderly lady getting off at a floor (I could be confusing things now) but she turned to him as she left and said it is pronounced Bone-o. Apparently she was Sonny Bono's mom. (could be confusing my stories so if someone remembers it better than me, please fill it in.)

No no, he actually was in the elevator with Sonny Bono. Sonny didn't say anything, but when he got to his floor, he said, 'it's Bo-no,' and got out.

Reminds, there's this older CD out, of "Beavis and Butthead" (old MTV cartoon), and they're singing with Cher', and Butthead asks, "didn't you marry that Bah-no dude," to which Cher says, "no, it's Bo-no, Sonny Bo-no."

Adam, Edge and Larry say it, Bah-no.
