Adam - can you explain the WC tier thing to me? We were talking about the WC at work yesterday (since Lenore's husband's originally from England, so of course he's cheering for them), and my coworkers were asking me how it worked... and I'm clueless

8 groups of 4, all 4 play each other, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. top 2 teams go through.

*g* That part I figured, since it was going from 32 teams to 16 Probably should've been more specific - what they were asking about was the actual groups... something about what group a team qualifies in can determine whether they go on or not, that some would basically have to win every game to go on? And something about the top team in each group moving to the next one up for 2010, and the bottom in each group moving down one for 2010?

you mean qualifying for the world cup (taking place over 2+ years), or the groups in the world cup?(the last 10 days)

there are no handicaps for anyone at the world cup.
